A lawsuit has been filed against an Ohio locksmith company for using bait and switch tactics.
Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine announced the lawsuit. It states that Add Source LLC, AdSource LLC, 24/7 Locksmith Advertising LLC, and the owner Yossi Assaraf are in violation of state laws.
DeWine said, “Consumers are lured in by a low initial price but then are charged much higher rates. They also think they are working with a local company when that is not the case. These kinds of operations take advantage of consumers and unfairly undercut local, honest locksmith businesses.”
The lawsuit says that Assaraf operate and number of websites and advertise on the internet, appearing to be local. Consumers were actually directed a call center (not located in the state).
Generally consumers were told that picking a lock might cost $19, but then when the contracted locksmith arrived, the price would be considerably higher.
