In Cook County, a woman decided to break into a home using the assistance of a locksmith. The claimed that the Lincoln Park home was her own and hired a locksmith to let her in.
Police were able to figure out the scam after a silent alarm was triggered upon entry into the home. They called the true homeowner who confirmed that he did not know the woman, Jennifer Klotz.
Klotz told the police that she did live in the home when they responded to the alarm. They found that there were a number of missing alarm keypads throughout the house. They were found in Klotz’s backpack.
Klotz was ordered held on $7,500 bail.
